While I was working at The Poplars with Martin in 1979 I was one of a number of colleagues that borrowed his TR7 before I got my company car. I remember very well my girlfriend Barbara (now wife of 40 years) and I queuing overnight in our old car to get first choice of ex-company cars up for sale to employees, we actually bought a Mini 1000 registration DUD 673V. Unexpectedly at something like 5.00am Martin knocked on our car window with hot coffee and sandwiches.....typical of his generosity. Funny how some special things stay in the memory.
